Recall/warranty notices for a vehicle you own are never good. As the owner of one of the affected vehicles mentioned here, I’m glad to know Honda is taking the matter seriously, but reading some of the comments on that thread, I’m now more worried than before. I have always had excellent luck with the Hondas I’ve driven and owned (a ’78 Accord, ’86 CRX, ’00 Civic, ’06 CR-V, ’09 Accord) but this gives me pause. We are in no position to swap our car out for a Toyota, but if the opportunity presents itself, I might have to get ahead of this issue.

In the meantime, enjoy this picture of Finn practicing her driving!

Toyota isn’t perfect either, but I still went back to them after the head unit/dashboard fiasco in my 2024 RAV4 Prime (which, to their credit, they were willing to cover–it was just the timeline to get it done and the resultant period of driving WITH NO DASHBOARD DISPLAY that didn’t work for me). Tony’s ’23 Tundra is under recall for the engine shrapnel issue, but Toyota usually does step and do the right thing without *too* much pressure. Head gasket stuff gives me the shivers after my Subaru experiences…so I’m pleased on your behalf about this.

Yeah, I used to love Subaru after my GL wagon, but the experiences you and Mom had with yours give me pause. I guess nobody is immune to recalls these days.
