So many good things to find here: A Complete History of the Millennium Falcon, exhaustively researched and illustrated. This is my favorite spaceship design, and what taught me at an early age that careful asymmetry was an excellent design choice.
I’m not entirely sure, but I think this 1964 Buick Convertible is the same year and model as my Mom’s blue Buick, which left our family in about 1980 or so. $6K in St. Louis, with a 430(?) engine that ran when parked–last May. This would make for a fun road trip to Syracuse, if I had the cash to spend.
So we got Jen’s laptop back from Apple this evening, and it runs smooth as silk. I swapped her drive back into it and set it back up on her desk, ready for work tomorrow. Thank god for excellent customer service.
…but now the fridge has decided it’s broken. The bottom half isn’t staying cold, so our food is now in a freezer in the dining room or stuffed into the kegerator. We have a neighbor who has a friend who works on this stuff; let’s see what he says.
This lineup totally motivates me for a road trip to North Carolina in June: Chvrches, Death Cab for Cutie Announce Joint Tour. Interestingly, Death Cab is touring with Metric up in Canada right now–another Venn diagram of music I like.
