I waited anxiously for the first day lily to open this year. The one plant by itself opened first–a single flower to be singly admired for a day. Then, in two days, another single flower opened from the same stem, and so on. Now, a week later, the plants in the clump are each sporting a single bloom. Fortissimo color!
