That’s 1/2″ of drywall up there, with one coat of mud on the seams. As of this writing, there’s a second coat drying.

So 1/2″ of drywall, and from the looks of it, about 25 pounds of kitty, aggregate.

I love all the moldings around your doorframes. Makes me want to buy an old house and fix it up. But first I’d need to marry some one handy and independently wealthy. And I’d better learn how to do all that repair work too.

    Never mind.

Well, you’ve got the wealthy part of it right, for sure…not that we are, or anything. Jen has pointed out that I can’t currently afford the time to do the hard stuff myself anymore, which is true-we’re getting this ceiling professionally hung and sanded as well as the primitive sanding job I did in the hall corrected for $400. When I do the math on how long it would take me, it’s a no-brainer.

We’re going to follow the molding pattern when we do the fireplace cover so that the room looks architecturally correct-hopefully that’s starting this week. And that’s something that I want to do.

That can’t be the same house!! It looks incredible. Actually, the cat’s give away the fact that you didn’t slip the photo out of Architectural Digest. Hi to Jen!! You guys need to visit, or vice-versa.
