Beer and Oysters

Six years ago, Jen invited me down to the County to attend the Oyster Festival with her family. I underestimated the travel time and arrived late (not a good first impression) but attempted to make up for it by trying raw oysters for the first time to impress both Jen and her mother ( I still don’t know if I was successful, but we’re married, at least.)

Saturday we took Jen’s father for his first time, and while we didn’t get him to try the oysters, we did enjoy some St. Mary’s stuffed ham, funnel cake, and Sam Adams Octoberfest on a warm, sunny autumn day. What could be better?

I don’t particularly care for beer or fried food, but beer and fried food together = damn good times.

Well, Bill you sure as hell impressed me!! I couldnt believe you were eating raw oysters…then ya’ll convinced me it was the ‘in’ thing to do and down the hatch it went. I had a good time that year…besides who the hell cares if you did or didnt impress my mom by downing the goobers, you sure impressed the rest of us…The real trophy prize is awarded for convincing the old man to get out there and go with you this year. I saw that picture and its classic…I really really liked that captured expression on both of their faces and its a damn shame I was sick as a dog and couldnt get up there this year.
