Over at Said The Gramophone, they’re doing a 22-best-of list for 2005. I remember hearing about Kelly Clarkson’s (Yes, that Kelly Clarkson) Since U Been Gone and how it was everybody’s favorite guilty pleasure of the spring/summer; I finally heard it today. I’d have to say, it is, in fact, pretty fucking good.

I’m going to go lie down now.

P.S. Go listen to that stuff NOW before it goes away-as with most MP3blogs, they only stay up for a week or so. And the rest of the music on the list is excellent as well.

Weirdest thing: Before I pulled up your page, that song was in my head. And….it was not playing in the car this morning that I remember. I actually like her newer one, I’m not sure what the title is. It goes….”I will not make the same mistakes that you did, la, la, la, la, will not let my heart cause so much misery…”

….that fucking song was in my head all night. DAMN YOU, POP MUSIC!

I think the title is “Because of U”. Go look that one up so it can be stuck in your head and replay, over and over and over.

Meanwhile, my 2 yr. old who has no idea who Vanilla Ice was, last night was singing “Ice, Ice Baby, du, du, du, du, du, du, do….Ice, Ice Baby.” With little prompting that actually coincided with his Dad saying, don’t step on the ice…, like he knew what he was singing. Little fart!
