I can’t say that I was as enthused by the latest LOST episode as the Onion AV review; it seemed a bit aimless to me, and there was yet another “new thing on the island for Jack to smash”. The flashback was fine but didn’t really go anywhere. I’m still waiting for something to happen.
Here’s a pretty slick way of streaming video from a desktop to an iPhone: Air Video, which is actually two downloads: an iPhone app and a streaming app. I don’t have a whole lot of personal need for this, but it’s pretty cool.
This is the first MMORPG that I am reasonably interested in playing:
The game will have multiple Lego-based worlds to be explored. Some worlds will have traditional Lego themes, such as pirates, ninjas and castles, while others will be novel for the Lego space. Users can assemble semi-completed components from these worlds into entirely new designs, or they can build new components from scratch, using standard bricks.
It’s aimed at the 8 to 12 year old market. What does that say about me?
Here’s a great primer on how to add an FM modulator to a crappy stereo in order to run an iPod on the down low. The Saturn has a giant, oversized (and thus unreplaceable) CD player, the CR-V has a giant, oversized CD/cassette player, and the Scout has a $20 Wal-Mart cassette deck held in with sheet metal screws. So this is definitely on our radar.

Uh-oh. The Onion AV Club gives the latest Massive Attack album a C+, which is pretty underwhelming, and Pitchfork gives it a 5 out of 10. I’ll buy it regardless, but I was hoping for a better critical reception. (Pitchfork gave 100th Window a 5.1 and I love that album, so this is all relative.)
Update: Meh. A few good tracks, and a few filler tracks. I’d say a 5 of 10 is deserved. seems to be getting better as it goes, though.
Look at this incredible vehicle and tell me if it makes you drool as much as me. I never thought I’d lust after a Volvo as much as this thing. Well, maybe an original X70 Cross Country wagon…
Conservative Activists busted for attempting to tamper with senator’s phones. While the ACORN representatives were clearly breaking the law in the “undercover” videos, I’m happy to see this wanna-be Liddy douchebag busted for a federal offense. I wonder if the guys in prison will make him wear the pimp outfit when they sell his skinny ass for cigarettes?
New favorite weblog reading: Ate Up With Motor. The article about Henry Ford and the flathead V-8 is a fascinating story.
Here’s the Washington Post’s take on the gutting of the McCain-Feingold bill. I think we should just put the entire government up on eBay every four years and auction it to the highest bidder—we might actually make some money that way.
From one of the message boards I frequent, here’s a group of photographs taken at Kingman, AZ in the late 1940’s of surplus airplanes being broken up for scrap. Oh, to have been alive and independently wealthy in the late 1940’s. Here’s one of my favorites.
